Hello everyone ✨
This is going to be my first time doing a Hive book review and my second time doing a book review in general. I feel truly honoured to be making a review of 's Hive book. This book wasn't submitted to dreemport because it doesn't follow some of the rules and so, if you abide diligently to the
rules, you can look the other way.

This book comes in four parts and each part holds its own suspense and thrill. Three words; war, magic and gore, can be used to describe this book. The book reminds me of the series "Game of thrones".
I must confess that the author is very poetic . I couldn't help but smile when I came across sentences that rhymed. He made good use of English words and if you're looking to improve your vocabulary, I'd advise you read this book. Personally, I learnt over ten new words some of which includes: maelstrom, parries, scrying and pockmark.
I am going to do a review of the book part by part as I give a summary of each chapter and also a screenshot of what stood out for me in each chapter. Without further ado, let me begin.
Part one: Red Days
This was the beginning of the great game(war). The readers were introduced to characters like: Captain Gream, Willow (Sailinson), the orc, a goblin(shaman) and "the seventh company" . This first part is fast paced. My eyes flickered a bit when Captain Gream lost focus for a bit and got knocked over by a Westwold Orc. He meandered his way out of the orc's grip and that was a relief. This part is wrapped up by the appearance of a 'lone figure who stares at the captain with azure eyes from the brow of a hill"
Part Two:Arrows in Flight
This part opens to the Elven king appointing Eliethen as his chosen sorcerer. The goblin makes a great entrance as his magic leaves the orc's in a state of confusion and Captain Gream in a statuesque state. Captain Gream doesn't remain in this state for so long. He is driven by vengeance as he dashes towards the goblin shaman. There was a twist here. Captain Gream alongside his soldiers were supposed to be bound by the 'paralysis' spell cast by the goblin shaman but that didn't happen. Why? You can find out here.
The fleeing shaman casts another spell but Captain Gream sends an arrow his way and watches as the arrow pierce through the neck of the shaman but it was already too late as the spell " Thelithen dalieth brenmn bremnessen" had already been cast in an elven language which Captain Gream could interpret. The great game continues…
Part Three:The King's Gambit
The war between the Westworld and the seventh company was brought to a halt as Willow (remember him?) could speak Westwold and as such, he accepted the truce offered to them by the Westworld with the acknowledgement of the irate Lieutenant Alnader, the highest left in command.
With the Westwold orc's and the seventh company on the same side and their war formation in check, they headed out to fight the Eastwold(was the truce too late?). The Eastwold (elves) rained arrows on their opponents and after the arrows, they headed out for war.
The Elven king on the other hand glanced at his failed sorcerer's body which was spat back at him by the scrying pool. He ordered for "The Deathdrinker". On arrival of the Deathdrinker, the king touches its tip to the head of his dead sorcerer's body…. The story continues.
Part Four: Deathdrinker's Bite
Captain Gream is fighting alongside the seventh company to eradicate the Eastwold but it seems like the elves have the upper hand at this moment. It gets to a point where he fights without emotions as he thought that he encountered one of the men who killed his wife.
The elves almost killed captain Gream but once again, the captain was saved by Willow. Captain Gream didn't deserve to die by the enemy's hands. With the determination to put an end to the red day, captain Gream heads towards the Elven king. He sees the sword in the king's hand and he knows what it is. He knows things he shouldn't know. With this knowledge, he pulls the blade from the surface of the pool and there's an explosion in the battlefield. His last words were quite epic; "The sword can’t drink what is already dead. You lose!”. He died a hero. He succeeded in putting an end to the red day.
I was totally psyched up from the second part of this book. The action kept coming alongside the memories. I found out that Captain Gream lost his wife to the Eastwold and so he kept having recurring memories. I was eager to know what happened in every successive part and it was absolutely thrilling. The author applied suspense properly which kept his readers hooked.
I cannot end without giving the author some accolades for his paragraphing and dividers. As a keen observer, I noticed that the first part had no divider but from the second part, he made a divider using the images of the previous posts and that was a very unique and clever thing to do.
Another thing that I observed was his brief summary in every successive part after the first part. He stated what occured in the previous part just to get his readers' memories refreshed.
This book wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. It proved the saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover".At first glance, I didn't want to read through the book but now, I would heartily recommend this book to anyone who is in need of some action and thrill. It is undoubtedly a great read. You really should check it out and thank me later( you're welcome in advance)
