Free Advice
There are always free advice these days, especially when the crypto price is dropping like a rock :) Today at discord one guy tells me, "your hive holding was once $1M, now it is less than $100K, doesn't that bother you?". This is a valid question. So I answered politely. My answer was: "No". I also expanded truthfully that I don't buy or sell a token for capital gain. I bought Hive and invested in it because I believe what it stands for. It stands for a decentralized social media platform over which one can build many apps. I like that, so I felt I should put some money on things that I like.
It would have been nice if the conversation ended here; but sigh, in discord, it never does! Next, the dude tried to explain that why my investment decision is wrong and why I am stupid :) Well, at this point I have decided to be my usual self and rub his nose to the ground.
We live in the golden age of the "Financial Guru," and every other type of guru for that matter! Open any social media app and you’ll be buried under an avalanche of free advice: “Buy this coin!” “Sell that stock!” “The 75% rule is law!” It’s tempting to listen. After all, it costs zero dollars to hit 'play' on a TikTok or listen to the guy at the gym who thinks he’s the next Warren Buffett.
"Free" advice usually carries the highest price tag in the building.
The Cost of Conformity: If you follow the crowd for free, you pay with your upside.
The Cost of Panic: When someone tells you to sell at a 75% loss "for your own good," the price is your future recovery.
The Hidden Agenda: Usually, the person giving "free" advice is just looking for someone to buy their bags or validate their own fear.
Have you noticed how the volume of free advice is inversely proportional to the color of the charts? It’s a Jekyll and Hyde situation: when the market is green, everyone is a genius; when it’s red, everyone is a risk management expert.

Look, I have no idea where price of Hive is going, and I do not know if it will recover or when it will recover. I can tell you what I am doing with my hive token: NOTHING. I am writing and using various hive apps as I normally do over the last 8 years. If you care, I made a simple table below, pay attention to it or not is entirely up to you. This ain't an advice. I am telling you what I am doing :)
My Investment Philosophy (In Three Easy Steps)
| Step | The "Normal" Person (a.k.a. moron) | Me |
|---|---|---|
| Price Drops | Panic, sell, cry in the shower. | Check the math, buy more, check the fridge. |
| Price Peaks | Buy more because of FOMO. | Sell to the FOMO people. |
| The Result | "Investing is a scam." | "Is it retirement time yet?" |
