Right now regular gasoline is $3.50 USD a gallon here and diesel is $5 a gallon, both up about 20% since the attack on Iran. The U.S. is now a net exporter of petroleum products, but here in Minnesota we’re mostly reliant on Canadian hydrocarbons rather than American sources. The nearby North Dakota oil boom seems to have somewhat fizzled.
I’ve lately seen stories about Australia’s precarious supplies given the current Hormuz fiasco. Several times, I’ve seen two weeks until the real disaster hits but have no idea how accurate that forecast is.
