Fruits are nature's trove of flavour and nutrition. They come in different colors, shapes, and sizes, each with its own unique taste and texture. They are wonderful gifts of nature for our taste buds and overall health and wellbeing.
Due to the economic crisis in our country, shopping our favorite things has become very expensive. Prices of goods keep increasing and that includes fruits. I love fruits, I love having plenty of fruits but it's not everytime I can afford the fruits I want. Well in this post I'll share with you the recent fruit shopping I did and this will be my entry to the veggie shopping contest:
The first fruits I was able to buy was the red and green apple. It's been like months since I had apple due to the inflation but I decided to make a change.
I went to the part of the market where they sell different fruits and they sell different fruits in different stalls so I first went to the part where they sell these apples.
"How much for 1 green apple?", I asked the buyer.
"1 green apple is N300 and the red one is N350 but I'll give you 3 for N1000."
N1000 is someone's 1 day wage lol, I can't use it all to buy apples, so I decided to buy just one green and one red apple.
So the two apples amounted to N650 and it was packaged in a bag for me.
I love apples because they are a nutrient-dense fruit that offers numerous health benefits due to their richness in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber.
After buying the apples I moved to where they sold bananas as I wanted some too. So I went to the part where they sell bananas and I found very fresh ones
I bought a small bunch of bananas which contained 9 fingers of it for N500.
Bananas might be my favorite fruit because I never get tired of it. It's so delicious to the taste bud, I just love it's sweetness!
Bananas are one of the most widely consumed fruits in the world. They're a convenient, nutritious, and delicious snack that's packed with potassium, vitamins, and minerals.
Next I bought watermelons, super fresh and attractive ones were found in the woman's stall.
Since not everyone can afford a full pineapple the fruit sellers cut them in half's and quarters to make it easier for people. I bought a small part for N200.
After getting all the fruits I wanted:
- Apples
- Bananas
- Watermelons
- Cucumbers
- Limes
I only picked a few of them since I can't afford plenty of it, I would've loved to add some pineapples, Papaya but I was limited to this little purchase but it's good, cause I made something really nice from them...fruit salad!
I'm grateful for the opportunity to share my fruit shopping experience and the joy of creating a delicious fruit salad with you all. Despite the economic challenges, I was able to find some fresh and nutritious fruits to satisfy my cravings.
