In the afternoon, my husband and I usually relax for a while from all activities, although not really relaxing because we will be happy to take care of our backyard garden that we have been able to harvest for several plants. And this afternoon as usual we did the activity. But it turned out that I forgot that there were no more snacks to accompany our afternoon activities. So I took the initiative to make bakpao with ingredients that were already available at home with the aim that this bakpao is not only for tonight but can also be enjoyed in the morning and accompanied by warm drinks of course.
To make this recipe and the ratio of ingredients I use my own instinct and this is the first time I have made bakpao mixed with beat fruit like this. I am sure that everything starts from an experiment, whether it fails or succeeds. Everything needs a process before the perfect result and I continue to improve myself to go through this process so that in the future my bakpao will be much better than my first attempt.
The ingredients I need to make this bakpao recipe are:
1. 250 grams of wheat flour (in this first trial recipe I didn't dare to make too much flour because I was afraid it would be wasted if it didn't work or according to my expectations, and I'm sure with this measurement and the help of fermipan, my bakpao will rise.)
2. ½ tablespoon fermipan
3. Chocolate bar (if you don't have a chocolate bar, it doesn't matter, you can replace it with anything you have, such as peanut butter, strawberries or whatever you like)
4. 150 ML water
5. The beat fruit that I use here is not for flavor but for color because I don't have food coloring at home right now. and I only use a little beat fruit so that there is no beat flavor mixed into the bakpao.
How to make:
1. Pour the flour into a slightly larger container
2. Then I grated the beat fruit directly into the flour to save space
3. After that, add the fermipan
4. And pour water into it then knead the dough until soft and cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise for about 1-2 hours
5. After the dough starts to rise, I make balls and I put in the chocolate that I have previously cut into small pieces as a filling for my bakpao. After I fill it with chocolate, I close it again to form balls.
6. After all the dough is formed, I steam the bakpao with a steamer that I have previously heated.
7. Steam for about 10 minutes then remove and I can see the progress.
8. I can enjoy the bakpao.
Since this is my first bakpao, I feel the color is not alive so the final color of my bakpao looks paler and not according to my expectations, even so I am very entertained with the taste of the bakpao I made, the savory and sweetness obtained from the melted chocolate makes my bakpao not too sweet. In the future I will make this bakpao again with a different version. If you want to make bakpao with this recipe, add more coloring to make it much more alive later.
