The time that comes is an opportunity and everything in it is an inspiration, Those are my words that I embed this week in this Vegan community. why am I writing these words? because it really suits the dish I prepared this afternoon. The menu I cooked for snacks this afternoon was sweet potatoes that I harvested myself, then baked them using Teflon with white coconut oil and I made avocado sauce on top. The thing that makes this snack special in my eyes is the presence of avocado sauce. Why? Because to be honest, my tongue still feels very unfamiliar with managing avocados that are given a spicy taste, because as I said in my previous posts, almost all people in Indonesia cultivate avocados for smoothies with a sweet taste.
Even though there are several dishes with avocado that I have made spicy and I have shared the recipes in this community too, the use of bolder ingredients to mix with avocado sauce is the main attraction and I am curious about the taste. because this is my newest recipe and I have never tried it before, I don't care about other people's tongues, because right now I trust my own tongue more..ha..ha… I'm sorry friends.
The ingredients for making baked sweet potatoes with avocado sauce are:
- 1 baked sweet potato
- ½ part avocado
- 2 red chilies (or according to taste), can be replaced with black pepper.
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 red onion
- Pinch of salt
- Coconut oil for baking.
How to make:
1. Peel the sweet potatoes and split them in half so that when you bake them, the sweet potatoes cook evenly and don't forget to wash them.
2. After that, heat the Teflon that has been added with approximately 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and spread the oil evenly.
3. After that, bake the sweet potatoes in the hot Teflon and cover the Teflon so that the heat is even. (and during the baking process this is the biggest temptation, because I just found out that when sweet potatoes are roasted with coconut oil like this the aroma is extraordinary and my stomach becomes hungry)
4. While waiting for the sweet potatoes to cook, prepare the avocado sauce by grinding the red onion, red chili garlic and of course the avocado itself.
5. After that, stir-fry the avocado sauce that has been blended until it boils and add a little salt then adjust the taste to suit your tongue.
6. Once the sweet potatoes are cooked, remove them from the Teflon and pour the avocado sauce into them.
7. Roasted sweet potatoes with avocado sauce are ready to be enjoyed.
The taste produced in my experiment was quite delicious. Especially the sweet potatoes have a very strong aroma when roasted like this. However, there is a slight correction in making my sauce and I will improve it in the next experiment so that the resulting taste is perfect later. That is, I should sauté the chilies and onions separately, then add the avocado that I have mashed and put in later. This seems to be much better on my tongue and tastes more perfect.
In the future I will make roasted sweet potatoes again. And I hope you can accept my recipe, friends. Greetings from Maytom. Indonesia and healthy greetings to all of you.
