There are meals that go beyond just filling your stomach — they comfort your soul. White rice with okra sauce is one of those dishes. Growing up, this was a go-to in many homes, especially when you needed something fast, fresh, and full of flavor**.
Okra is one of those magical vegetables _versatile, nutritious, and able to turn a simple sauce into something truly special. Paired with fluffy white rice, it becomes a wholesome plate that satisfies both hunger and health.

Here’s how I prepare my simple and flavorful white rice and okro sauce.
INGREDIENTS USED#
- 1cup of fresh okra
- 1 pieces of fresh tomatoes
- 1 bulb of onions
- 3 pieces of Fresh pepper (to taste)
*half liter of palm oil
*One tablespoon of salt - one tablespoon of curry spice
- 4 cups of rice
*water
#PROCEDURE USED#
Step 1:
I put my pot on fire and add my water for cooking my rice.
Then I Rinsed the rice thoroughly to remove excess starch and put in my seive.
Then I Boiled my rice until it is soft and fluffy.
And I added my salt for taste
Then Drain and set aside.
Step 2
#HOW I COOKED MY OKRA SAUCE
In my pot,I heat palm oil and sauté onions until translucent .
Then I Added my chopped onions and chopped tomatoes and pepper. Cook until the mixture thickens and the oil begins to separate.

Then I season with curry spice and set aside.
I Stired my chopped or grated okra. Let it cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring gently. I Don’t overcook — i want the okra to remain slightly crunchy and fresh and added my salt for taste.
Then I added a little water and stir very well.
Then I Dish my fluffy white rice onto a plate, top it with the rich, slimy, savory okra sauce, and dig in. It’s a perfect harmony of textures and flavors. the softness of the rice meets the silky, spicy goodness of the okra.
Now my Okro sauce and white rice is ready to serve.
