Hello Vegan Lovers, Today I will try to make a new recipe with pumpkin ingredients. Pumpkin is a fruit that is used as a vegetable, the texture of pumpkin fruit is soft with a slightly sweet taste, making pumpkin fruit easy to make into various food menus. Today I will make pumpkin into a tasty and crunchy snack.
a savory pumpkin snack rich in the taste of spices. I use turmeric to enrich the taste of the snack. To make this snack, I use old pumpkins, because old pumpkins have a denser and meatier texture than young pumpkins.
The Ingredients
300 grams of pumpkin
300 grams of flour
5 pieces of garlic
3 pieces of red onion
3 red chilies
50 grams turmeric
1 pack of ground pepper
1 piece of leek
1 teaspoon of sugar
1 tablespoon of salt
500 mL of water
400 mL of cooking oil
I use a lot of turmeric, to enrich the taste of the pumpkin snack.
How to make
First I will boil the pumpkin until soft, don't throw away the skin of the pumpkin, boil the skin of the pumpkin as well. Mix water and pumpkin, then boil until the pumpkin flesh is soft.
After the pumpkin is soft, turn off the stove, let the pumpkin get warm / close to cold so we can take the flesh.
After the pumpkin is warm, remove the skin, take the flesh, then mash it.
Cut the leeks in small pieces, so they can be easily mashed with other spices.
Next I will process the spices, I still use a mortar and pestle to grind all the spices, because I like the aroma of turmeric, chilies and onions when the skin is broken, the aroma tempts the appetite. Grind the red chilies, red onion, garlic, turmeric, leeks, salt and sugar.
Now I will mix all the ingredients so that they form a dough. Mix the ground spices with the mashed pumpkin. Stir until well mixed.
Add ground pepper to taste, stir all ingredients again until mixed.
Add flour, stir again until all ingredients are well mixed and form a dough that can be formed. Mix in the flour little by little, if the squash mixture is too soft, add more flour to form a dough.
The shape of the dough is round like meatballs, not too small and not too big, about a tablespoon of dough.
Next I will fry the pumpkin meatballs, heat the cooking oil until it's really hot.
Put the pumpkin meatballs into the hot cooking oil, fry until golden yellow. Don't forget to flip one side so it cooks evenly. After both sides are golden yellow, then turn off the stove. Drain the pumpkin meatballs so that the cooking oil level is reduced.
The result
Pumpkin meatballs with turmeric flavor are ready to be enjoyed while warm.
Pumpkin meatballs are also more delicious when served with fresh tomato slices.
This turmeric-flavored meatball snack can also be used as a side dish, add warm rice or gravy noodles, pumpkin meatballs taste delicious. The skin feels crispy and the meatball inside feels soft but still crunchy.
