Greetings my appreciated Hive Collectors community! I hope you are having a happy and productive start to the week, it has been a while since I posted in this community but I recently started teaching at the University so I have been limited on time, however I had this project planned for quite some time to share in this community. This is my prized collection of figures from the movie Predator!
Saludos mi apreciada comunidad de Hive Colectors! Espero que estén teniendo un feliz y productivo inicio de semana, hace ya un tiempo que no publicaba en esta comunidad pero recientemente comencé a dar clases en la Universidad así que he estado limitado del tiempo sin embargo tenía este proyecto pensado desde hace bastante tiempo para compartir en esta comunidad. Se trata de mi preciada colección de figuras de la película Predator!
The devil who makes trophies of men!/El demonio que hace trofeos de hombres!
This was a great action movie from the late 80s, starring the great Arnold Schwarzenegger and directed by John McTiernan, telling us the story of a group of special forces assigned to a rescue mission but which ends up becoming a desperate race for survival. when they realize that they are being hunted by a being that is not from this world. The impact that this film had on me was total, the concept was truly original: a group of elite military men who are hunted by an alien race that does not seek to conquer the earth or create a galactic empire, they are beings who live only to prove that They are the definitive warrior race of the galaxy, sublime!
Esta fue una gran pelicula de acción de finales de los 80, protagonizada por el gran Arnold Schwarzenegger y dirigida por John McTiernan nos contaba la historia de un grupo de fuerzas especiales asignados a una misión de rescate pero que termina convirtiéndose una desesperada carrera por la supervivencia cuando se dan cuenta que están siendo cazados por un ser que no es de este mundo. El impacto que tuvo esta película en mi fue total, el concepto era realmente original: un grupo de militares de élite que son cazados por una raza alienígena que no busca conquistar la tierra o crear un imperio galáctico, son seres que viven solo para demostrar que son la raza guerrera definitiva de la galaxia, sublime!
Las primeras figuras de los 90/The first figures of the 90s
With the success of the movie, all kinds of game merchandise came out, including figures, but in those 80s and 90s the concept of a figure from the movie was that of a simple toy, so we had figures without any kind of rigor cinematographic even in the early years of 2000 the figures were really mediocre and I had no desire to keep a figure like that.
Con el éxito de la película salió toda clase de mercadería del juego entre ellos las figuras pero en esas décadas 80 y 90 el concepto que se tenía de una figura de la película era la de un simple juguete, tuvimos así figuras sin ninguna clase de rigor cinematográfico incluso en los primeros años del 2000 las figuras eran realmente mediocres y no tenía ganas de conservar una figura así.
A cinematically faithful collector's figure/Una figura de colección cinematográficamente fiel
The years passed and while Fox rambled about how to continue the saga after the failures of the Crossover between Alien vs Predator, the fan base remained loyal to this saga and it was not until 20212 that the collectible figure brand Neca decided do justice to this great film by releasing a series of Predator figures for the 25 years of the first film.
Los años pasaron y mientras Fox divagaba sobre como darle continuidad a la saga luego de los fracasos del Crossover entre Alien vs Predator, la base de fans seguía fiel a esta saga y no fue sino hasta el 20212 que la marca de figuras de colección Neca decide hacerle justicia a esta gran película sacando a la venta una serie de figuras de Predator por los 25 años de la primera película.
But unlike the figures that brands like Kenner had released in the 90s, Neca set out to create a figure for hardcore collectors, of good quality and above all with an extreme level of detail and great fidelity to the movie. This is how since 2012 I started collecting these figures, which by the way are not easy to get many of them and in this publication I want to share with you, so without further ado let's look at the first of my figures.
Pero a diferencia de las figuras que marcas como Kenner habían sacado en los 90, Neca se propuso crear una figura para los coleccionistas hardcore, de buena calidad y por sobretodo con un nivel de detalle extremo y gran fidelidad a la película. Fue así como desde el 2012 comencé a coleccionar estas figuras, que por cierto no son fáciles de conseguir muchas de ellas y que en esta publicación quiero compartir con ustedes, así que sin más veamos la primera de mis figuras.
My 1st figure: Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer/Mi 1era figura: Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer
Of course we start with the protagonist: Major Alan "Dutch" leader of the special operations group called by the US government for a rescue mission. I love this figure, it was the first one I bought because of the impressive amount of details it has, from the combat uniform, the boots, the camouflage on the face and the cigar detail in the mouth! 10/10 for this figure!
Por supuesto comenzamos con el protagonista: Mayor Alan "Dutch" líder del grupo de operaciones especiales llamado por el gobierno de EEUU para una misión de rescate. Me encanta esta figura, fue la primera que compre por la impresionante cantidad de detalles que tiene, desde el uniforme de combate, las botas, el camuflaje en la cara y el detalle de puro en la boca! 10/10 para esta figura!
⚙️ Accessories/Accesorios.
The accessories that accompany this figure are the classic M16 with grenade launcher and a holding strap, a holster that is attached to the figure, a .50 Eagle, and 2 knives: one Tactical and the other Bowman.
Los accesorios que acompañan a esta figura es la clásica M16 con lanzagranadas y una correa sujetadora, una pistolera que esta unida a la figura, una Eagle .50, y 2 cuchillos: uno Táctico y el otro Bowman.
The right hand allows him to hold the 2 types of knife and the M16 but not the pistol, it is the only detail it has because the left hand is made to hold the M16, so the pistol is mainly to be carried holstered. Otherwise everything is very well designed in this figure, there is an aesthetic harmony between the design of the figure and the points of articulation.
La mano derecha le permite sostener los 2 tipos de cuchillo y la M16 pero no la pistola, es el unico detalle que tiene porque la mano izquierda esta hecha para sostener la M16, así que la pistola es principalmente para llevarla enfundada. Por lo demás todo esta muy bien diseñado en esta figura, hay una armonía estética entre el diseño de la figura y los puntos de articulación.
My 2nd Figure/Mi 2da figura: Predator jungle hunter.
Here I show you the antagonist, the Predator Jungle Hunter or the demon that makes trophies of men, this figure stands out for how faithful it is to the movie, from the details of the mask to the bone ornaments that it wears on its body.
Aquí les muestro al antagonista, el Predator Jungle Hunter o el demonio que hace trofeos de hombres, esta figura destaca por lo fiel que es a la película, desde los detalles de la máscara hasta los ornamentos de huesos que lleva en el cuerpo.
⚙️ Accessories/Accesorios.
The Jungle Hunter comes with its 2 characteristic accessories: the retractable blades that are attached to the right forearm and the backpack with the plasma caster, which can rotate 360° and can be removed from the figure, it is a very delicate piece so I try not to manipulate it so much.
El Jungle Hunter trae sus 2 accesorios característicos: las cuchillas retráctiles que están unidas al antebrazo derecho y la mochila con el plasma caster, el cual puede girar en 360° y puede retirarse de la figura, es una pieza muy delicada así que procuro no manipularla tanto.
My 3rd Figure/Mi 3ra figura: Predator water emergence.
This figure is very very special to me, it is the figure that captures the moment when the Predator is fully revealed when emerging from the water in the first movie! The level of detail is so great that I decided not to take it out of the packaging. The figure comes with the same accessories as the previous figure: the retractable blades and the backpack with the plasma caster and a skull is added. The best difference is the painting of the figure, which has transparent parts and others that are painted, giving the illusion of making the transition from invisible to visible.
Esta figura es muy muy especial para mi, es la figura que capta el momento en que el Predator se muestra completamente al emerger del agua en la primera película! El nivel del detalle es tan grande que decidí no sacarla del empaque. La figura viene con los mismos accesorios de la figura anterior: las cuchillas retractiles y la mochila con el plasma caster y se añade un cráneo. La mayor diferencia es el pintado de la figura, que tiene partes transparentadas y otras que se encuentran pintadas dando la ilusión de estar haciendo la transición de invisible a visible.
4th Figure/4ta Figura: Predator hive wars.
Ok friends, the figure I show you below, although it is not canon cinematically speaking, has a lot of history behind it. Let's start with the history of the figure, which is a reimagining of the Predator hive wars launched by the toy company Kenner in 1998 from what would be a line of toys dedicated to facing Aliens vs predators. Remember how I told you that the figures from those years were horrible? Well here you can see what the original design was like, you can't blame them because they started from the premise of creating toys for children and well in the end the line was a commercial failure that ended up being cancelled.
Ok amigos, la figura que les muestro a continuación si bien no es canon cinematográficamente hablando, tiene muchísima historia detrás. Comencemos por la historia de la figura, el cual es una reimaginación del Predator hive wars lanzado por la juguetera Kenner en 1998 de lo que sería una línea de juguetes dedicada a enfrentar Aliens vs depredadores. Recuerdan que les dije que las figuras de esos años eran horribles? bueno aquí pueden ver como era el diseño original, no se les puede culpar porque partieron de la premisa de crear juguetes para niños y bueno al final la línea fue una fracaso comercial que termino cancelándose.

It took 16 years for Neca to finally get the rights to the franchise and finish this Kenner concept. The origin story of this Predator is respected, the hive wars Predator was traveling in the stars with the rest of the members of his clan but a catastrophic accident causes them to crash in Xenomorph Prime, the biological home of the xenomorphs.
Tuvieron que pasar 16 años para que finalmente Neca consiguiera los derechos de la franquicia y terminar este concepto de Kenner. La historia de origen de este Predator es respetada, el hive wars Predator viajaba en las estrellas con el resto de los miembros de su clan pero un accidente catastrófico los hace estrellarse en Xenomorph prime el hogar biológico de los xenomorfos.

As the only survivor of his clan and with the only company of aggressive xenomorphs, this Predator did the impossible, surviving long enough in Xenomorph prime until he was rescued by other Yatjas. The concept of this story was so good and original that Dark Horse incorporated it into their comic Predator: Life and Dead, which is where I got the images above.
Como único sobreviviente de su clan y con la única compañía de xenomorfos agresivos este Predator hizo lo imposible, sobrevivió el tiempo suficiente en Xenomorph prime hasta ser rescatado por otros Yautjas. El concepto de esta historia fue tan bueno y original que Dark Horse lo incorporó en su comic Predator: Life and Dead que es de donde saque las imágenes de arriba.
⚙️Accessories/Accesorios.
In addition to having its retractable blades, this figure also has its plasma caster backpack and the kind of halberd with the original design of the Kenner figure, the truth is that the design of the halberd is very good and light enough for the Predator can take it.
Además de contar con sus cuchillas retráctiles, esta figura también cuenta con su mochila plasma caster y la especie de alabarda con el diseño original de la figura de Kenner, la verdad es que el diseño de la alabarda es muy bueno y lo suficientemente ligera para que el Predator lo pueda llevar.
And this is what our Predatos looks like with his halberd, according to history he had to make his weapons with the remains of the ship in order to survive, this makes the Predator hive wars one of the toughest that exists when surviving on a planet as hostile as the Xenomorph prime.
Y así se ve nuestro Predator con su alabarda, según la historia tuvo que hacer sus armas con los restos de la nave para poder sobrevivir, esto convierte al Predator hive wars en uno de los más duros que existen al sobrevivir en planeta tan hostil como Xenomorph prime.
5th Figure/5ta Figura: Wasp Predator.
Our last figure in this post is the Wasp Predator of course this is a conceptual figure that is not cannon, but the reason it is here is because this character was the product of a fan movie called: Batman: Dead End.
Nuestra última figura en este post es el Wasp Predator por supuesto esta es una figura conceptual que no es cannon, pero la razón de que está aquí es porque este personaje fue el producto de una fan movie llamada: Batman: Dead End.
And well, what can I tell you about this fan fiction in a crossover of Batman vs The Joker Vs Predator vs Aliens, it's crazy, I leave you the link to YouTube where it is located. Being honest, for a fan fiction from 2003, it is very well done and well, this speaks volumes about the ramblings of the former FOX studio, which since 1990 had not released any more sequels to Predator, so the same fans were already creating and producing written material and audiovisual of this beloved saga.
Y bueno que les puedo decir de este fan fiction en un crossover de Batman vs El Joker Vs Predator vs Aliens una locura les dejo el enlace a youtube donde se encuentra. Siendo honestos para ser un fan fiction del 2003 esta muy bien trabajado y bueno, esto habla bastante de de las divagaciones del otrora estudio FOX que desde 1990 no sacaba más secuelas de Predator, así que los mismos fans ya estaban creando y produciendo material escrito y audiovisual de esta querida saga.
⚙️Accessories/Accesorios.
This figure has only one accessory: a polearm going through the head of a Xenomorph, the level of detail in this piece is simply exquisite and as you may be thinking, this was the reason that led me to buy this figure. However, the only detail I find about this figure is the weight, the part with the head crossed is excessively heavy for the figure to hold, so it is preferable to support the polearm to prevent the figure from falling.
Esta figura tiene un solo accesorio: un arma de asta atravesando la cabeza de un Xenomorfo, el nivel de detalle en esta pieza es simplemente exquisito y como podrás estar pensando, esta fue la razón que me llevo a comprar esta figura. Sin embargo el único detalle que le encuentro a esta figura es el peso, la parte que tiene la cabeza atravesada es excesivamente pesada para que la figura la pueda sostener, así que es preferible apoyar el arma de asta para evitar que la figura se caiga.
And here we finally have the Wasp Predator in all his glory, with the polearm and his hunting trophy. According to the internal lore that was generated among fans, the colors and helmet of this predator are intended to simulate a wasp, it is a strange concept because the Predator already has a perfect camouflage system and it makes no sense that it is adopting the appearance of fauna. from another planet. But in summary, the figure is quite good and although its only accessories are the retractable blades and the polearm, the detail with the xenomorph's head as a hunting trophy makes it worth it.
Y aqui tenemos finalmente al Wasp Predator en toda su gloria, con el arma de asta y su trofeo de caza. Según el lore interno que se generó entre los fans los colores y el casco de este predator pretenden simular a una avispa, es un concepto extraño porque el Predator ya tiene un sistema de camuflaje perfecto y no tiene sentido que este adoptando el aspecto de la fauna de otro planeta. Pero en resumen la figura esta bastante bien y aunque sus únicos accesorios son las cuchillas retráctiles y el arma de asta el detalle con la cabeza del xenomorfo como trofeo de caza hace que valga la pena.
