Until the last day of December, I didn't lose hope and honestly thought that work commitments would allow me an extended weekend away from the city where I live, but...
Due to the bad judgment of colleagues who run the business, instead of realizing the project in the last quarter of the year, all activities waited for me in December.
If only that work was finished 🫤
I will have peace for these four days, and from Monday we will continue at a strong pace, as if the New Year's holidays never happened, to slow down our pace a little.
And so, I thought I would go to another city, Timisoara, Szeged or Budapest, to collect the** Christmas light** decorations in another city, for the #HiveCollectors community and the December theme, but no.
I had to walk around my city, on this last day of December and the last day of the old year, this Wednesday and in the last #wednesdaywalk for this year, catching the light in the places I've already been.
The area in the newly built part of the city, which is popular for some residents, is not liked by many.
The buildings and the large shopping center Galerija, which was built on the banks of the Sava River, Belgrade Waterfront, look modern and tidy, but it is accompanied by the epithet "corruption".
I'm not particularly fond of it either, but it's useful, because there are a large number of shops where I sometimes do my shopping.
Sometimes I walk through the wide streets of the shopping center, and now, before the New Year, a large illuminated sculpture of a deer has been placed in the central part (you can tell that it is a deer, not like the bush in Apatin 🙂), and next to it, there is a piano, with a young pianist who brightens up the tour for visitors to the shopping center. Which Hive pianist do you think came to my mind? 🙂
All these lights placed above the entrance to the shopping center look nice, with the contrast of the black sky behind them.
I also photographed a beautiful LED Christmas tree, while in the background you can see the new symbol of this part of the city, the high tower.
But it's not the light of the lights in the shopping center and the white Christmas tree that I wanted to present in #hivecollectors
Not far from the shopping center Galerija, there is a park where every year, from the beginning of December to the beginning of January, a magical Winter Fairytale is staged.
There is a Coca Cola caravan, with houses and a truck in which Santa Claus is transported and who patiently and cheerfully waits to take photos with visitors (which you wouldn't say from his look 😃).
Two ice rinks for small and even smaller children, a stage has been set up, fires have been lit and heaters have been set up, and small houses have been set up selling mulled wine, hot chocolate, teas, coffee, doughnuts, hamburgers, chimney cakes and other various delicious diaconia.
The prices of these products are very high, probably more expensive than in other cities in the surrounding countries, so I am even more sorry that I did not manage to travel somewhere, where I will behave like a tourist and where I will not think about prices.
I couldn't do that here 🙂
But I didn't come here to drink mulled wine and eat doughnuts, I came to photograph the Christmas market lights.
And so, without further ado, enjoy the collection of photos I took on this walk, which I present in a post on the topic of the month of December.
To some new threads in the #HiveCollectors, #WednesdayWalk and #Worldmappin communities just a few days into the new year, I wish you all a happy holiday, spend time with the ones you love and rest well.
Happy New Year!
