A few days ago, classic cars invaded the Hive roads with their presence. As if we were going back in time, we were able to enjoy cars that were built a few decades ago, or in some cases, a century ago. A collection of these came to the Hive Collectors community from , and on the same day, another Hiver,
, posted a parade of classic cars too. She explained that it was an event she saw already some months ago, but it took time to organise the photos and post them...
Same here!!
Although it was at the beginning of March when we visited this fair, Antic Auto Alicante 2025, I didn't find the time and inspiration to post about these beauties. The reason is probably due to the huge mistake I made - I took too many photos! 😅 Yes, it can be an issue, as when I see all of them, I get desperate. I don't know where to start, how to make a selection and then pass those selected photos to my laptop, organise them, etc. So, months later, I am finally here with my selection as well, bringing a collection of classic cars, even though they are not mine.
I think you would agree with me that the majority of the cars we see here are gems in design and appearance, despite being so old already. It has an easy explanation: these classic cars have value because their owners took good care of them, restored them, so now the cars look just awesome. They can count as collectables, very valuable ones actually. If you noticed, for example, the Austin Mini 1963 Countryman from the photo above has a value of 38.000 euros. I assume that all the other ones also have their good price.
The entrance fee for this classic car fair was 5 euros per person, really not so expensive, so we decided to visit it. Much more affordable than buying one of these cars, right? 😂
To own such a vehicle, you have to be in love with the whole concept of restoration and collecting. It is a lot of years of work, effort, dedication, knowledge, skills and devotion to present a car in these conditions. Just look at them - they were flawless. Well, some were in the process of restoration, and it was pointed out, but the majority were presented in their complete splendour.
This was my favourite section of the exhibited classic cars, I liked all of them, so for me it is not easy to choose one favourite. I don't know if you can choose just one? Why wouldn't we choose a whole collection and take home all of them? 😂 Just a joke, of course, I hardly wash my car... that means that these cars that need so much care and time to preserve them in this shape would not be happy with me.
Chenard et Walcker was one of the oldest cars exhibited at this fair. There were photos showing the process of restoration and more information about it. It is a model from 1914!
It was restored with a lot of love, taking into account many details. This car has a special place in this post, so here are a few photos of it instead of just one. If I had to describe it in a few words, it would be cuteness on four wheels. Simple but elegant at the same time. 😉
The rest of the selected photos showing many other cars will have to wait for maybe another occasion to be presented. 😅
