My daughter has a small collection of stuffed animals, which she has accumulated over the years. However, I have noticed that with the passage of time, (she is 22 years old) she no longer plays with them. Most of the stuffed animals remain at his grandmother's house, taking up space and gathering dust.
The decision to donate the stuffed animals has been something we've been mulling over at home. On the one hand, I know that my daughter has an emotional attachment to many of those stuffed animals, as each one has a story behind it. On the other hand, I think it would be better if those stuffed animals were in the hands of children who really enjoy them and give them the value they deserve.
On one occasion she told me that when she was a little girl she was very afraid of a stuffed animal that here in my country Venezuela is called Juan La Iguana, I remember that this character had a program on television that was educational and the girl was like hypnotized watching it, she was paralyzed and it was because of the fear she had of him.
Seeing today this stuffed animal I think my daughter is really right, it is something scary.
When I was a little girl I bought two puppies that I baptized as Zamora and Zamoro. Zamora is brown and Zamoro is black. Zamora is in my daughter's room watching over her and Zamoro now belongs to another member of our home, the cat Chia, who has been playing with her since the first day we adopted her when she was one month old.
Other of my daughter's favorite stuffed animals were Pucca and Garu, Garu is at grandma's house but Pucca is taking care of my daughter's library stationery in her room:
One of my sister cousins gave the little girl a giraffe as a gift, and that stuffed animal has been with her since she was born:
In talking to my daughter about donating her stuffed animals, I was surprised by her reaction. Although she was a bit reluctant at first, she eventually agreed. She told me that she would prefer those stuffed animals to be happy in another home, rather than sitting unused in storage.
A curious fact, is that since she was a baby, although she played with her stuffed animals, she had a predilection for these little animals, and she still has them:
The idea of donating the stuffed animals seems like a wise decision to me. In addition to freeing up space in her grandmother's house, we will be helping to bring a little happiness to other children who may enjoy them. This also indicates that my daughter learned the value of generosity and the importance of sharing with others.

Mi hija tiene una pequeña colección de peluches, los cuales ha ido acumulando a lo largo de los años. Sin embargo, me he dado cuenta de que dado el paso del tiempo, (tiene 22 años) ya no juega con ellos. La mayoría de los peluches permanecen en la casa de su abuela, ocupando espacio y acumulando polvo.
La decisión de donar los peluches ha sido algo que hemos estado reflexionando en casa. Por un lado, sé que mi hija tiene un apego emocional a muchos de esos peluches, ya que cada uno tiene una historia detrás. Por otro lado, pienso que sería mejor que esos peluches estuvieran en manos de niños que realmente los disfruten y les den el valor que merecen.
En una oportunidad me comento que ella de pequeña le tenia mucho miedo a un peluche que aquí en mi país Venezuela se llama Juan La Iguana, yo recuerdo que ese personaje tenia un programa en televisión que era educativo y la niña se quedaba como hipnotizada viéndolo, se paralizaba y era por el miedo que le tenia.
Viendo hoy en dia este muñeco de peluche creo que de verdad mi hija tiene razón, es algo atemorizante.
De pequeña le compre dos perritos a los que bautizo como Zamora y Zamoro. Zamora es de color Marron y Zamoro es de color negro. Zamora se encuentra en el cuarto de mi hija vigilando y Zamoro es ahora de otro integrante de nuestro hogar la gata Chia, quien juega con el desde el promer dia que la adoptamos con un mes de nacida.
Otros de los peluches favoritos de mi hija eran Pucca y Garu, Garu esta en casa de la abuela pero Pucca esta cuidando la papelería de la Biblioteca de mi hija en su cuarto:
Una de mis primas hermanas le regalo a la niña una jirafa, y ese peluche le ha acompañado desde que nació:
Al hablar con mi hija sobre la posibilidad de donar sus peluches, me sorprendió su reacción. Aunque al principio se mostró un poco reacia, al final estuvo de acuerdo. Me dijo que preferiría que esos peluches sean felices en otra casa, en lugar de estar guardados sin ser utilizados.
Un dato curioso, es que desde bebe ella aunque jugaba con sus peluches tenia predilección por estos animalitos, y aun las tiene:
La idea de donar los peluches me parece una decisión acertada. Además de liberar espacio en la casa de su abuela, estaremos contribuyendo a llevar un poco de felicidad a otros niños que puedan disfrutar de ellos. Esto también indica que mi hija aprendió el valor de la generosidad y la importancia de compartir con los demás.
