Today's novel coronavirus (COVID-19) headlines cover a hodge-podge of topics. Scientific topics include vaccination possibilities, understanding more about how the disease spreads, and the impact that the disease is having on scientific research as a whole. Societal impacts include school closings and new possibilities for remote education. Business and policy impacts include earnings impacts, more companies enacting telecommuting policies, and possible privacy problems with Iran's official coronavirus application.
Of local interest (to me), Pennsylvania now has 10 reported cases of the illness, and a number of local schools and school districts are closed after a local pediatrician was taken ill by the virus.
