Most Africans prefer traditional means of treatment, we always love to administer drugs for ourselves which is self-medication though it worked for people in the past generation things are different now and the way we eat in this generation and the things we use in this generation are unhealthy, we now introduced skin care products which can cause or promote skin cancer.
To the question of the day, I had witnessed how the surgery was carried out when my sister gave birth to her first son, the doctor followed due process by informing the husband about her condition and the chances of not giving birth naturally so they had to carry out Cesarean section on her, her husband signed some documents and the operation was carried out on her and after some days she was feeling better and taking her drugs regularly for her to heal soon but traditionally our forefathers has their ways of delivery pregnancy women without any fear, most people prefer to use the traditional methods because not everyone can afford the surgery.
Nowadays we have many quack doctors and nurses, they always administer drugs for headaches to cure stomach pain, I was checking online today when I stumbled on a post on Facebook where a young guy sued one private hospital because of their incompetence, I read the story and I realized that the guy's mother was admitted in that hospital and she was giving expired injection which makes the mother unconscious for days before she finally dies and the hospital was still arguing that they are on their right.
I felt his pain because it wasn't easy to lose a loved one because of someone's incompetence, I agreed with the guy's action but does that bring back the mother, this is one of the things we are facing in my country and people prefer to travel out of the country for better treatment.
In some cases, we love to use herbal medicine to cure some sicknesses but it doesn't work all the time, In the case of someone who has a tumor or liver problem an operation must be carried out on it, and one side effect of traditional means of treatment is that not everyone knows well about it and it is not hygienic, some traditionalist doesn't take care of this herbs by washing it well, some herbs are soaked for months which can be slimming and unhygienic to the body, though some herbs are working perfectly for curing sickness but a traditionalist can never carry out surgery they only give herbs and it is effective if it is using the way it is prescribed.
There is no harm in trying the two methods because if one doesn't work the other can, I can advise the use of ancient methods of using herbs but it is to some extent, as a female we must learn how to take care of our bodies because we are sensitive to germs and diseases, we are prone to germs and we must learn how to resist them, we must familiarize ourselves with modern treatment.
Most of the herbs are used in the production of these foreign drugs which we see as masterminded forgetting that they originated from herbal substances. The two methods are essential but different in their categories.
