The Eyo Festival is a unique festival which is also known as Adamu Orisha play. It is a yoruba festival which is done in Lagos State, Nigeria
The Eyo festival are consumed dancers which are the masquerade that come out during the festival. They are believe to represent the spirits of the ancestors. When a chief or Oba died the Eyo festival is done to honour the dead. Also it is done when they installed a new oba which is the king.

The Eyo is robed from head to toe in white flowing costume which comprises of agbada, aropale and wear a hat. It moves from one place to the others many people following it. It is a taboo to wear the Eyo costume overnight or the Eyo to cross any body of water.
One week to the event of Eyo Festival the senior Eyo group, the Adimu which uses black, board rimmed hat costume goes around in public with a staff always on Sunday. When such thing happens the events will take place on the following Saturday. Each of the four other Eyo groups which are Laba(Red), Oniko (yellow), Ologede (green), and Where (purple) take their turn in that order from Monday to Thursday.
