Hello friends of hive it's good to be here to talk about a topic which is cultural stereotype. When talking of cultural stereotype there are lots of things involved... We will have to look into culture and stereotype together.
To me cultural stereotypes is when everyone in a place or a member of a group are have the same characteristics and the same sense of thought. Stereotypes can be said to be a type of cultural membership, such as nationality, religion, gender, race,age, ethics beliefs and so on.
Culture is an explaination of broad cultural concepts, beliefs and norms, communication style, values, orientations, and so on which help us understand our cultural differences and avoid been judgemental about other culture or believe.
Stereotype can be the way you view things either in the positive ways or the negative ways.
Cultural Stereotype is when one has a thought on someone based on the thinking of who they are or where they emanate from, or probably the language which they speak without knowing the source of the individual.
Generally, there are different cultures and different believes of different people because there are people from different tribes and different locations but understanding the norms in a culture is the main key.
For me as a yoruba person, my belief is different from those of the igbos and theirs are also different from mine.
There are different meals we have in the yoruba land which are pounded yam, rice amala(yam flour),eba made with garri, lafun and many more.. when you aren't from this tribe, an aspect in the yoruba land you find it hard to adapt with this kind of acts.
In yoruba land we have some festivals which we involve in which are the Eyo festival, ogun festival, oya festival and many more. This festival are what they you in appraisal of the gods and this is a trademark to the yorubas. Nigeria has lots of tribes and different dialers also and it is has 3 ethnic groups which are the yoruba hausa and igbos.
To some people they have some believe that some aspect in the yoruba land are bestowed with some characteristics which might not be true sometimes but it's just the believe they had overtime.. for instance the ekiti and the ondo people know them to be the lionhearted type or strong-headed in times of arguments but it isn't so. For me they kick against prejudice and injustice that's why most people certainty think they kink to what they want...
Cultural Stereotype make an individual feel better about themselves and about their culture.
It's makes you able to express yourself in your convince at anytime.
It helps to express their feelings and also helps to take out anger because when you you understand each other there won't be problem..
