While We are still in the sallah mode, in the season of 'sharing' love and while sallah is mostly attributed to muslims religion, which i believe should be celebrated by all religions especially the message and importance the sallah celebrations convey which is sacrifice, a sacrificial love of giving. Which should be adopted by every human. I think this is what the world needs right now, Love. The world would have been a better place if there is Love.
I'm not a muslim but I've make it a thing to celebrate with my muslim friends and family every year, infact i do help in killing the rams, and also take my time to eat to the fullest. This year is of no difference as i travelled down to celebrate with friends and also family.
Early in the morning, the first thing will be to go to the praying ground to pray before proceeding to kill the ram. Killing ram is symbolic to sallah as laid down in the quran.
As the people mostly women are busy cooking, the men are sorting out the ram which will later be cooked and be used to serve the food.
At the end of the whole rigorous cooking, much later in the day, different varieties of food were served,jollof and fried rice, salad and some swallows depending on what you want😋😋.
In summary as seen in the picture i combined,jollof and fried rice together with salad just like the average british will do😉😀
