In response to garden journal update who happens to be my friend, i've decided to take some time round my garden, especially with the fruit trees and share with us updates regarden the garden.
In the garden are sour sob, mango, pawpaw, lemon, banana, cotton tree and guava trees.
Fruit trees require alot of patience as it sometimes take a year or years to fully mature into producing fruits.
I will extensively take you'all on a ride and shed more lights.
Banana tree
For This banana trees have been planted for almost 3 years now, i started this banana plantation with just one stem (stalk). Banana is known for spreading and multiplying on its own as the root develops, it breaks up from the ground, banana is best plant in a water logged area
Lemon tree
This lemon tree is two years already, looks as though its not growing as expected, its been on the same height for a while now, that could be as a result of halt in rainfall, been watering the tree on my own.
Mango tree
Am most impressed with this mangon tree so far, planted almost two years together the lemon, in fact in the same area and has been developing really well, grown some feet level above the ground. And for this kind of specie it usually takes 3-5 years before bearing fruits.
Guava tree
Blessed to have this specie of guava tree as small it is barely two years after planting have already bear its first fruits, its a dwarf kind of guava, which is a foreign kind of specie.
sour sob
Normally sour sob fruits take years to fully mature, this is stil a work in progress almost two years old as well
cotton tree
Might not be a fruit tree thou, Cotton tree doesn't take much years before it start producing cotton. This cotton tree is three years olf already and does produce all year round provided the weather is not harsh with adequate water
pawpaw tree
Unfortunately this is not a type of pawpaw tree that produces fruit, this specie is refered to as the male specie, not might bear fruits but the leafs are much more medicinal and so they are not a waste.
In Nigerian homes this special type of pawpaw trees are kindda scarce as people tend to look out when making herbal concoction notably for treating fevers.
Planted last year and its growing just fine.
