Romantic Cinema was our topic for the Valentine's week. We discussed different genres of Romantic cinema. Now we would be discussing about different genres of comedy.

First in this comedy genre is the Slapstick Genre. Slapstick traces its roots back to the stage performances, where actors performed exaggerated physical stunts and gags.

This comedic style worked very well during the early days of cinema. It was appealing for the audience to see those movements and it made them laugh a lot.

Charlie Chaplin was the first global kind of an actor who made his impact due to slapstick comedy genre.
Comedy in slapstick lies in the basic tension between control and its loss. Both the verbal outbursts of the wordier comics
