The Woman in the portrait
Meet Kumang, the enchanting masterpiece inspired by the alluring demi-goddess of Iban folklore. Within the vibrant tapestry of Sarawak's cultural heritage, Kumang embodies ethereal beauty and unmatched talent, setting her apart from mortal Iban women. So that's her. Kumang. ☺️
What inspires me to draw her
The recent Borneo harvest festival inspired me! I loved the pretty Iban women's costume called ngepan indu. It made me think of Kumang, a demi goddess from Iban folklore, wearing it. That's how I got the idea for my portrait! 😄
