This picture is not from the day of the Atlético de Madrid - Raal Madrid derby, but I wanted it to be here.
On this occasion I will not only present a good range of shit-photographs, but also show my work as a shit-reporter. Today's photographs (except for one) were taken during the course of the day on 29 September in the vicinity of the Metropolitano football stadium and inside it.
That day, it was derby day, and I headed to my destination with two objectives in mind: to capture the atmosphere of the match and to again take photographs that captured the evening light. The football match was due to start at 21:00, giving me plenty of time to fulfil my intentions.
With the intention of starting the day well I had the idea of looking for a sunrise seen from the Puerta del Sol, during the metro journey I realised that the time was approaching and that the photo in Sol was an impossibility. So on the way I changed my mind and got off at another station looking for a place I already knew.
The photo of the sunrise has its emotional story, although I took it being very careful and making sure that no car was coming from behind me, I can't deny that I felt uncomfortable taking the photo and not seeing what I could be coming by my back. Without a doubt I think I captured a great shit-photography.
An urban sunrise on derby day.
I arrived at the stadium around 18:40 and there was already an atmosphere. Something I had expected. Many young fans come hours before just to watch the team bus pass by, creating a great atmosphere full of revelry and euphoria.
I wanted to take some shit-pictures of the fans welcoming their team before the start of the match and this is where the problems started. I know the area well because I had already thought of several locations to take some good shit-photographs but...
I had been a year (a whole season) without going to the field, due to a disagreement with a team of which only a small reflection of the one I was passionate about remains..., and in this year of absence, those high places I had thought of to take my shit-photographs have been enclosed by fences announcing works, new constructions.
I looked for alternatives, but in this case the trees, full of leaves, didn't help, making it difficult to see from one place to another. Finally I found a more or less decent place and took some photographs of the event. Not as many as I would have liked, of course. Another alternative would have been to take them at the roadside, among the fans, but the truth is that so many people overwhelm me.
The rest of the shit-photos have little to comment:
Walking towards the Metropolitano Stadium.
Statue dedicated to Luis Aragonés: legend of Atletico de Madrid.
Night falling.
The Metropolitano Stadium is empty.
Estadium Metropolitano with full admission.
Soccer match starts.
End of the soccer match; the fans return home.
Thank you for your visit, I hope you enjoyed this shitty photo report.
