I do it a lot and regularly - have rarely had a bad experience. In truth, any bad experience hasn't been all that bad at all, just maybe less good than other experiences I suppose.
I get paid to do it. I get paid a lot of money.
I do it for the enjoyment of it as well however, and I pay for it too, I've paid a lot of money for it over my lifetime, and I'll pay for it again...just like I did recently.
I did it again last weekend, not for work, for enjoyment, and yes I paid for it because my work only pays for work-related flights.
Yep that's right, I was in the air again and off to the city of Melbourne.
I saw my seven year old nephew there as he'd flown in from where he lives, thousands of kilometres away, to compete in a national contest and I wanted to support him and generally just hang out with him because I see him so rarely (in person) due to the distance between where each of us lives.
I had a great time; he's a good little kid and slightly bonkers just like me and we always have fun. He did well in his contest too, I am very proud that he qualified for the national finals and it was so good to see him even if just for a short time.
I'll admit that I sometimes get a little tired of flying, I mean flying for work which happens a lot, but I generally like flying and intend to do a lot more until I can't do it anymore...like when I'm dead. When flying gives me the chance to see though, it's even better.
Have you ever travelled a long way to to watch and support someone in their endeavours or to spend time with a niece or nephew? If you have, feel free to comment below.
