If you look closely you'll see my lovely girl-person in this image; she's standing on a sliver of dry sandbar between the ocean and beach not long after the tide had receded. It'd left ripples in the sand - seemingly disorganised but each exactly where it was supposed to be - strewn strings of sea grasses haphazardly and, of course, left pools of sea water which I assume remained to remind those fortunate enough to be there in the moment that their stay was temporary and that the ocean would soon return to lay claim to the area us humans could only borrow.
It was a nice moment walking on a very secluded beach on what was an incredibly lovely autumn day of 19°C, with a pretty special person whom I'm very fond of and fortunate and grateful to call my own.
We both had the day off and while it was not totally ours to own most of it would be spent doing things we chose to do rather than those we were compelled to.
We'd dropped one of my vehicles to a technician for service and decided to spend the day wandering around aimlessly and this beach walk around 10:00am which went for almost an hour and a half seemed the ideal way to kick it off. I think we saw three other people the whole time and those were from afar which suited us fine. We walked and chatted and were silent finding deep satisfaction in the simple moments.
Later we reconnected with civilisation and did some other things together (including lunch) and much later in the day collected the vehicle and went home after what had been an extremely enjoyable, relaxing together day.
When was your last "together day" either with your wife or husband, a special friend or even a day spent finding togetherness by yourself?
