I’ve been spending some time watching the locals work—the builders and the security lads. It’s a different world compared to back home. People keep asking what it’s like living in Ubud, so I thought I’d show you around and give you my honest thoughts.
I’ve left the UK for good now. I’m trying to make this 3Speak thing work because I need to earn a living somehow while I’m out here. I’ll be showing you the reality of it all—the good bits and the stressful bits. It’s not just about the travel; it’s about the personal side of things too, and trying to find a bit of peace. And now I’ve ended up here in Indonesia. We’ll just have to see where it goes from here.
The truth is, the UK has become a pretty miserable place to live. Everyone seems depressed, and it feels like the people in charge have completely turned their backs on us. Between the taxes and the cost of everything, I just had to get out while I still could. I don’t have much in the bank and I haven’t got a massive plan, but I’m just going to give it a go and see what happens.
