In this issue we are going to talk about tsunamis. Everyone probably knows what a tsunami is - huge and powerful waves that wash away everything in their path. But how do tsunamis occur, and are they really that dangerous?
This phenomenon occurs most often due to earthquakes, the origin of which is at the bottom of the ocean. The movements and shifts of the earth's crust create waves that spread out in all directions from the epicenter. While they are in the open ocean, they are not large, but as they approach land, the wave grows, starts to foam, and crashes onto the shore with all its might.
