Community Token Talk: EOS Community Forking out Block.one?
The EOS community stopped ongoing payments to Block.one.
Block.one was set to receive 100 million EOS over several years for EOS blockchain development. This is around 10% of the total supply.
EOS community is not happy with the work Block.one is doing. So further payments of 67 million EOS are stoped as the community believes Block.one is no longer acting in the network’s best interests.
Is EOS community following the Hive community on the road to decentralization?
You have two options (both bad) when you join a chain with a pre-mine:
- the founder (owner of pre-mine) does not sell, the chain is centralized
- the founder dumps the token and drops the price. Community is left with the low price to attempt and pick up the burden of "fixing" and running the chain.
Hive lived through this and forked out, will EOS do the same? Will we see more communities doing the same?
