Hey everyone!
It's been a while since we posted an update from the account. Today, we merged the preview branch (the beta version of 3Speak) into main, and with this comes the biggest update to 3Speak.tv in a long time.
The Mantequilla Soft team (,
,
, and
) has been heads down building, and we're excited to officially share what's new.
Let's get into it.
Brand New Video Player with SDK for 3Speak.tv
We've built a completely new open-source video player for 3Speak.tv from scratch: the 3Speak Player SDK.
No more iframes: Videos now play using native <video> elements, powered by hls.js on Chrome/Firefox and native HLS on Safari/iOS. It's framework-agnostic, meaning it works with vanilla JavaScript, React, Vue, Svelte, or any framework.
This makes the experience of watching videos on 3Speak better than watching them on other platforms.

Shorts Are Here
You can now upload and watch Shorts directly on 3Speak.tv!
Also, shorts appear as circular thumbnails (like Stories) at the top of your feed. Tap one to enter the experience. Swipe left/right to browse through them, or swipe up/down to scroll through a user's short-form content.
It's familiar, it's fast, and it brings short-form video to Hive in a way that feels native.
Note: Shorts are not regular posts. They are comments or "snaps", and people can also see them on PeakD Snaps. Shorts uploaded through 3Speak.tv by default will land here.
3Speak Shorts Editor and Remixes
We've added a built-in video editor directly on 3Speak.tv. You can now edit Shorts without leaving the platform.
Here's how it works: when you upload a Short, you'll be asked if you want to allow remixes of your content. If you enable it, other creators can take your video, edit it, and post it as their own Short. This is perfect for reaction videos and collaborative content. If you'd rather keep your content as-is, just disable remixes.
When someone remixes your Short, you get credit: the original author is mentioned on the remix, and you'll receive at least 5% in beneficiaries from the remix post. Creating content on 3Speak can now earn you rewards even when others build on your work.
The editor is lightweight by design. It currently supports 480p videos, Shorts only (60 seconds or less, under 100MB).
Playlists
Organize your content your way. Users can now create playlists on 3Speak, both public and private.
Group your videos by topic, series, tutorials, or whatever makes sense for your audience. Public playlists are shareable, private ones are just for you.
AI-Powered Captions
Accessibility matters. 3Speak now generates AI-powered captions for your videos in 5 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, and Hindi. More languages coming soon, based on demand.
Comment Translation
Hive is a global community, and now the conversation can flow across languages. We've integrated Libre Translate directly into 3Speak, so you can translate comments with a single click.
Powered by our own instance: translate.3speak.tv
New Login with AIOHA
We've replaced the old login system with AIOHA — All-In-One Hive Authentication, developed by .
One login modal, all your options: Hive Keychain, HiveSigner, HiveAuth, and Ledger. No more confusion about how to log in. Pick your preferred method, and you're in.

Note: We still have the "Login with E-Mail" option that takes you to the Legacy 3Speak, but that is going to be disabled soon.
SEO Improvements
We've added proper SEO to 3Speak.tv. This means search engines can now better index and surface 3Speak content. We'll be monitoring how this impacts discoverability over the coming weeks.
Change on the feeds
We also made a change to the feeds. On the main page, you can now see a a follow feed that shows the videos from the users that you follow. You can also see the new content, trending, and first upload feeds. You can also access each feed by clicking the "View all" button at the top right of each section or feed.
For these feeds, we created a new backend that fetches the content.
Thumbnail Fallback Server
As you may have noticed, the Hive Images server (images.hive.blog) has been having some issues, so we built our own mini thumbnail server at images. 3speak.tv as a fallback. If a thumbnail fails to load from the primary source, the platform now pulls it from our own server, so you never see a broken image.
Having said that, there are still some issues with the thumbnail previews. We are working with those involved to fix them as soon as possible, but the image server may need to start working again.
What's Coming Next
This update is just the beginning. Up next on our roadmap: Audio and Podcast support. We're actively working on it over at preview.3speak.tv, where we'll continue pushing new features before they go live on main.
Help Us Test!
All of these features are now live on 3Speak.tv.
We need your help. Go try it out, upload a video, create a playlist, test the Shorts, check out the new player, and let us know what you find.
There may be bugs here and there, that's expected. If you find something, report it on our Discord so we can squash it fast.
Final note
You may have also noticed that the beneficiary account for 3Speak videos has changed from to
. This was a change that we did about a week ago, so it is clearer where the beneficiaries are going.
