I was feeling quite thankful to be based in Condesa, Mexico city is huge and as a tourist you don't want to end up in the wrong place, that's when things can get sketchy
I'm sure you've heard of some stories and that's often why people get scared of traveling to Mexico
but the streets of Condesa feel extremely safe, in fact its a fairly affluent area.
I’m very fascinated by architecture, street art and the layout of public spaces, there are a lot of buildings built in the 1920s in the art deco and modernist style
there also a lot of trees and green spaces, I love that you can walk through the middle of the street which is completely pedestrianized and lined with trees, some areas have seating space, there are also a lot of cyclists and rentable bikes, runners seem to enjoy these areas also
these spaces were designed based on the principles of the garden city movement a method of urban planning in which self contained communities are surrounded by greenbelts.
on the way to the huerto roma urban garden I pass through a park called parque Mexico, I noticed a lot of pedigree dogs all sat in a line for sale, I also noticed many people walking around with expensive dogs,
I feel quite sad when I see this because there is a whole ethical side to dog breeding that is pretty cruel.
Its clearly more of a status symbol to satisfy the humans than an act of kindness for the dog.
Despite having to navigate yourself around the amount of luxury dogs the park is quite pleasant, it even has free WiFi and a zone where you can sit and listen to relaxing music whilst on your device.
Everyone seems to be within their own hipster bubble here, wondering from restaurant to coffee shop and the prices in these establishments reflects the high end clientele
after leaving the park im at the edge of this district I have now entered Roma, already this neighborhood feels more urbanized but still has a bohemian vibe with a lot of art and shops.
As I approach a busy junction I see a tower of plastic bottles, a corner of the urban garden community, from the outside it looks very intriguing and I cant wait to go in.

Have you been to Mexico City, if so which is your favorite district?
