Mesquite Tree Forest Preservation
Earth Deeds Vol. #22 entry
More than ever we are awakening to being an integral part of earth’s ecosystem. As inhabitants of this planet we have some responsibility for the nest we live in and maintaining the nest. The same way we clean up our house, we also have to clean up our environment.

Hello, my name is Taelor and I have returned to my various blockchain social medias, and even instagram, in order to share my personal experience executing a sustainable agricultural practice called Korean Natural Farming but this time in a much more focused and organized manner. I aim to spark interest in sustainable agriculture all the while obtaining a certification. This will be a 9-12 month process that really, will be a lifelong practice for me.
- What is Korean Natural Farming?

This contest from will allow me to highlight one of the various aspects of my Korean Natural Farming practice, which involves gently supporting a local desert ecosystem in order to gather the robust micro-organisms and plant materials for their enzymes and hormones. Namely for a process called IMO 1(Indegineous Microorganisms).

I live in Las Vegas, NV and this year(2020) has been the second driest on record. Living in a desert and trying to gather micro organisms can be a challenge for various reasons.
- All USA SW Desert environments are typically federally protected
- Micro-organisms in general are primarily water
The desert is a very sensitive environment and protected by the goberment. So my intent must also include leaving the environment in a better place than it was when I entered. For me this entails picking up trash, building mulch areas around trees and understanding the water requirements for the tree(s) and plants I am applying filtered water to. I reuse the one gallon plastic containers from the local Kangen store to carry the water over.

I usually find rusted out tin cans, beer cans and plastic items. Today though, I found a cool piece of mail.

I pick up trash and have been watering this area once a week during this hot record breaking summer but will back off as temperatures cool off. As time goes on and I also build up various mulch layers around the Mesquite trees, I will be gathering the Micro-organisms here and re-applying to the local plants in a foliar spray. I also removed some of the parasitic mistletoe which only is beneficial when used as a top mulch anyways.đŸ˜‰
