Lockdown is still here, and although we all are tired of it...There are still some good ways to have an awesome time while staying within the rules but still having the feeling that you are alive.
Going to the city and sitting on a friends rooftop terrace outside with some people is one of the ways to do so. Because of sitting outside any risk of transmission is lower, and it is a great way to catch up in a chill setting.
This is the city of Eindhoven from above with a view towards the town of Veldhoven when the sun was setting. With current daylight savings, not even a curfew was broken!
This particular region of Eindhoven called Strijp-S is really in development as they are building a whole park of skyscrapers here. Originally most of these buildings were the original Philips offices and factories and now most of these flats are built into living space
As you can see in the picture here underneith still a lot more of these buildings are being made and the one on the right side I am curious about. It has an Italian style of building and it all kinds of green will be hanging from the balconies when it is finished. Some green in a concrete jungle, how cool is that!
Apart from the building style there was also time for some experiment drinks with this time the choice of poison was a frozen margherita which turned out fantastic.
The more cool thing about this drink? This straw is actually eatable, made from sugar and packed in a environmental friendly package. The only downer on this one is that there is gelatine in there, which makes it less friendly to vegans. But apart from that, it was a great snack for after finishing your drink (oopsie) and the shape stayed and did not fall apart while having the drink.
I am enthusiast with these kinds of developments around straws who are known for being responsible for a great chunk of the pollution around all beaches.
The randomness of when you are in a public building on a roof? Yeah these kinds of things just happen.
'Hey is it okay if I walk my rabbit here for a bit?'
I find these kinds of things really funny and that feels good again.
The city of Eindhoven is grinding away to create more living spaces as the shortages were coming before the covid. At this moment a lot of expats are not here, but once this return eopel will need living space again.
I am curious of offices will also be used for this purpose now that home office is a way more approved office style. I guess working potentially has changed forever, and it would be good to also do something useful with the left over office space.
Although I would not want to live in the city anymore, I would prefer some green around me, being here is still always a joy and makes you feel very much alive.
I hope we can continue soon on getting this back on track again
