Okay it has been lockdown time like forever already and we all have a lot of time. I do try to use this time as constructive as possible, with for instance learning how to play piano, reading a book, making a jigsaw and gathering some information on possible trades. But you know....sometimes we end up in front of the TV and I guess sometimes that's just okay.
And because you can not end up with intellectual stuff all the time, there should also be room for some guilty pleasure on your screen. What are you watching? I am sharing you some of my nonsense. Here we go!
The real housewives of Beverly Hills
Netflix-Nederland
Hell yes, this is hardly too embarrasing to tell, but I actually love watching this on the background. There is no need at all to watch this with full attention, but just as like background music.
So this series is about a group of friends in Beverly Hills who are all way too rich and all have no idea on how normal life functions anymore. Their basc daily stuff? Talking shit about each other and doing themed dinner parties where always drama seems to pop up.
I do still wonder if this is all staged or if it has aspects of their actual real lives in there. I guess it is a bit like the serie 'the Hills' which also had a lot of acting and doing scenes over, but in the end it was about their actual lives. This seems the same. So with million dollar divorces and 4 nannies, and cleaning chicken meat with chlorine this is actually good stuff to clear the mind on
Yes, I am actually watching this currently while writing, don't tell anyone
James May Oh Cook
Radiotimes.com
'
Everybody knows James May from Top Gear, but I didn't really like that show honestly. It was always a bit just too much middelaged men being a bit too pretentuous, if you know what I mean. But James May is the fun guy of all of this one, because he is just the dusty dude minding his own business.
Recently I also watched a travel show from him around travelling in Japan and that was absolutely hilarious to watch. This cooking show is the same. First sentence:
'Hi, my Name is James May and I can not cook'
Nothing is a lie about this. You really see him struggling and making weird dishes. But that is actually the fun about it. He is making fun about how all dishes look so fancy afterwards, which is because of some person hiding in the cubbord with the perfect dish waiting to bring out. So he has Nancy hiding in the closet... It is more natural even though it is ofcourse staged for the series, it is fun to watch. Go for it!
Daily Dose of Internet
apkcure.com
This is actually a Youtube Channel with all kinds of small videos edited into a 3/4 minute format. There is always a bit of nature inside, something to get smart from in science, some animal stuff, and some bloopers.
Every day a new video gets published and you can binge them endlessly if you ask me. Every clip starts with the legendary words
'Welcome to yooour daily dose of internet'
And ends with....
'Thank you guys for watching and I will see you all very, very soon. Later!'
With a very typical and recognisable voice. Actually this is decent stuff to watch to also learn random fun facts, as well as laughing about anything. A true winner!
So, that is it! Binging for the win! Let us hope that these lockdowns will be over by the end of the year or I need a lot more TV to fill the gaps.
So with watching what do you fill the gaps?
