At every stage in life, we undertake to carry out a task or involve in an activity that we continuously do repeatedly. At some point we get bored of doing the same thing again and again. But one thing remain certain, that we becomes proficient in that thing as we do it continuously . By each passing day, we get to learn one or two things from that thing we have been doing. Some other times we becomes scared of venturing into something new, probably because of the fear of failure. Howbeit, these experience are must in our life.
I will be sharing with the community the two activities am actively engaged in right now, that am about to end. And the lesson I have learned from them.
Am a Student, and at the same time learning to fabricate aluminium windows and doors. As a student, my daily routines for the pass four years in school are almost the same. I wake up early to go find water to bath, take a cab to school, attend lectures, read my books and do my assignments. These are just the abridged activities I do almost every day while in school. And they constitute my school cycle. From these daily routine of mine, I have been able to learn a lot. One of those things I have learned is that hard work and committed pays at the long run. I get to learned that in one of the group assignment that was given to us by our lecturer, we were supposed to do as a group, but some of us left it for few others to do it for us, on the day of the presentation, the lecturer decided to grade each student according to his performance. I failed that course badly because I was never commitment to that assignment.
Tolerance: is one other thing I had learn in my school life cycle. School environment is a place filled with people from different background and culture. The tolerance for other people's culture and behaviors is a must if you ever attend university. And with this, it further broaden your perspectives and open your eyes to others realities that are not there in your community.
While in my work cycle as an apprentice. I have learned a lot of things, and one of those things is patience: Patience is necessary virtue one need as an apprentice, especially if you are learning the work already as an adult. Sometimes your boss may deliberately delay teaching you a particularly thing till the last week of your apprenticeship, to teach you patience.
Humility:is another thing I had learn in the course of my apprenticeship. In my cycle of work as apprentice, I have learn humility. You need to be humble to learn a work. You have to purge yourself of any pride, because a child who is your senior in the work may be sending you errand like you are his kid even you an adult.
