You could say I'm one of those who learned better since the Corona virus outbreak as I've become more conscious and more focused on learning which before now, I do out of a "Whatever" attitude...
So staying grounded have never been my thing even though I unconsciously do some things to stay grounded. The disease outbreak made me discovered new ways to stay grounded and not just that, I'm so conscious of what I do now.

Staying grounded is not being controlled by external chaos, it's also having the ability to stay calm and trying to connect to who you are even in the presence of uncertainties.
With such a definition, one can easily conclude that it isn't easy to stay grounded.. I mean "How do you expect someone who's facing a very difficult time to stay calm and undisturbed? And how easy is it to connect to oneself?" It's very rare.
Well, staying grounded is very practicable and I will tell some of which I do to stay grounded during this present times of uncertainties.
Staying Grounded Physically
What I mean by physically is "My health and the health of others" how I stay grounded in them was not easy at first but it only gets easier as I push on to staying put in the right state of mind.
Accept the new reality
Here is why it was hard at the beginning, I felt really disorganized and unhappy about the news of Corona virus spreading and making life hard for people. It was hard to accept that I have to stop studies and go back home according to lock down procedures.
Realizing that my worries about the situation at hand would do no good, I accepted the new reality - Face and follow the new rules in calmness.
Practice gratitude
I find myself appreciating life's simple pleasures such as a new day, a sunny day, a rain fall, bright stars and beautiful flowers growing around. Truth be told, little things like those are sometimes not appreciated enough because of the busy schedule of life we're trying to meet up with.
The break from school made me start noticing even the most little and ignored things. And I became more grateful for life... So many are struggling with the Covid virus, so sad to think of.
Take Breaks
Even though I wish to know what's going on in my country and the world at large to stay grounded by information, I still find those little times to take a break from them because I've come to know that social media also contribute to anxiety through fake news.
While on those little breaks, I connect with friends far from me. Those who I can't see unless the lock down rules are lifted off. The social media is also a way of connecting to them and this still remains one of the best use of it.
Stay active and creative
No time to coil up in my despair from the happenings around. I remember I started finding ways to keep myself busy during the lock down then I came across an opportunity to write and earn online.
I didn't think I was still good at writing but I went ahead to give it a try and that has been a life changing decision for me. Here I am growing my skills and still practicing being grounded especially from what I learn on other writer's posts.
Staying Grounded Mentally And Emotionally
I think this is the most important thing to keep grounded as they do have a huge impact on our physical well being. Prioritizing our mental and emotional health to become grounded takes more practice like
Lending an ear
I accept the fact that I'm not the only one having the problem of facing Corona virus protocols and keeping safe in health. So I find ways to ask after close friends and if it's possible, I ask my health workers friends to know how they're faring.
This way, I stay grounded because while you try to comfort others, you're feeling comforted as well. It works like that. Being a listener and being kind to others have a way of giving mental growth in times of distress situations.
Play Memory Game
The lock down shut down most activities but our past memories still lives in our hearts and also in our phones and TV. I go through my gallery, find interesting memories, smile at them and stay happy away from what's really happening around.
I also play fun games especially the word cookies game and scrabble game, they keep my brain very active since I wasn't studying for any upcoming exams.
Self Love
I show myself love by avoiding hurtful thoughts, enjoying each passing moment and being myself in the best way I can. Watching funny videos to make me laugh and listening to music is also a way I show myself love.
I also find time to read books, mostly online. I find new ways of doing things especially new recipe for meals and how to improve on what I love to do more (writing).
Staying grounded is something we all need to keep practicing and love doing it as it doesn't only change our lives but also those around us.
Stay grounded, stay happy and love living more
