As soon as one exhibits any level of skill or value in public they start engaging with the perceptual hierarchy of the group mind. This is an unconscious grouping and ordering of things in which certain individuals are particularly privy.
Creativity did not turn into industry overnight because of some nefarious leader's plot. Industry developed as a natural course of the human capacity to segment and order things. That which has more value goes on top and that which has less value goes on the bottom.
Attention is the currency and group attention, a resource. This attention translates into meaningful experience and these experiences translate into money. And in this society money = survival.
So when a person has no control over themselves but to go and bug that famous person on the street for a selfie, they are subconsciously thinking of survival - "this will give me a step up in the perceptual hierarchy." Narcissism becomes rife as people align their intuitive compass with that which gives them a leg up.
Industry has developed from this attention game. While skill and discipline still hold value within this perceptual hierarchy other unequal factors not based on elbow grease hold value like: looks, charisma and socialising ability.
Unfortunately for industry, creative flow is restricted when it is demanded to be squeezed out like an empty tube of toothpaste - it limits the source of the artists ability when the original source was source itself! Now source has been segmented and is being farmed for industry with the artist retaining little more significance than a battery powering the structure of the hierarchy that limits it.
To limit this restriction we must transform creativity into a gift and divert it from being a thing to be sold or capitalized on in order to gain attention. We must recognize consciously that as soon as someone gathers a large amount of attention from the group.. for the group's sake, it then becomes their responsibility to decentralize that energy back into the group to allow it to rise and fall like the breath of a body sustaining it with necessary nutrients for long term sustenance.
This may also mean artists go and get normal jobs like normal people 😂 By being 'normal' and also contributing as an equal in society, artists serve their craft from an honest and humanitarian approach instead of towards the totalitarian goal of placing themselves above the people and not needing to participate, to earn a much larger pay bracket.. while then, needing to defend their position in the hierarchy to maintain their lifestyle.
The answer to this headf**k is self responsibility: to retain conscious awareness in our starting point for every creative thing that we do, not for a name, a dollar or a step up but rather creation for creation's sake.
Group attention and meaningful experience are experiences owned by every individual in a healthy autonomous community. That community may not be this society but the groupings we form in our daily lives are all communities - bubbles of awareness energy that gather potency over time and blossom into physicality.
It is common sense that it is our responsibility to actively create energetic sustainability if we wish to be energetically sustainable.
In order to change this world physically - we must change how we operate energetically 💫
