Mika has grown up to be a beautiful companion for my husband and me. She is now two years old, and wow, where did that time go? Today, I will share some cute things and some of them when she can be a little bit naughty. ;-)
Now that the weather has gotten cooler, we have the fall invasion of stinkbugs. Mika has found them to be quite entertaining. She loves pawing at them and tossing them in the air.
She is gentle enough with the bugs that she plays with them for quite some time before she finally does them in.
Mika is on the porch with one that flew onto the step stool.
This is a daily occurrence since there is a plethora of them flying around.
Since the weather has been so warm lately, I decided to give her favorite toys another wash and dry them on the clothesline.
She is sitting patiently underneath guarding them from any intruders, of course.
Whenever one of us is working in the yard upkeeping the gardens or trimming the grass, she is always supervising the affair.
The first thing every morning, Mika loves to play with her ball in our family room. It makes different sounds when she rolls it around the room. She literally plays with it like a soccer pro and maneuvers it around all the furniture.
She is howling at the ball telling it that she wants to play with it. I have to roll it first before she will start rolling it herself with her nose. It has become one of her favorite pastimes and she lets me know that it is unacceptable to try and omit it from her daily routine.
Her naughty side comes out from time to time. If we are busy doing tasks and have not taken the time to play with her; she will find one of our shoes and take off running with it to get our attention.
We try to keep shoes and flip-flops off the floor but sometimes forget. On this afternoon, she ran off with one of mine while I went inside for a glass of water.
She runs around the entire backyard shaking it and daunting me to chase after her.
She snookered my husband too and off she went with his shoe. He often slips them off before going inside the house and she never hesitates to take advantage of the situation.
She can be a little stinker when it comes to the shoes. We are hoping that at some point she grows out of that phase. What do you think? Does your dog do the same thing with your shoes?
When the deer come through the woods, she always sits and watches them. It is nice that they know she can't get to them so they are not fearful of her at all.
The best part of our daily routine is porch time. Mika always sits in my lap watching over the yard for any squirrels or chipmunks that might enter. Then the chase is on!
Now, it is naptime in my lap after a busy morning. I just love having a dog again and can't imagine life without her. She manages to keep us very busy during the day.
Until next time, this is Sunscape
