Hey everyone! I'm back at uni which means I'm able to spend more time down on the coast again :)
For those of you that don't know, i'm from Victoria, Australia and we are in the middle of winter meaning it is freezing outside. Well, last week I was leaving to go home on a beautiful warm day with not a cloud in the sky when I thought I would go to one of my favourite spots to see if I could see any whales.
Up until this day, I had only seen whales twice and that was at the purpose built whale watching platform that was super busy. Out at this spot, I was the only one on the cliff and I sent my drone up for a look when I find a whale and their baby (calf) out at sea!!
I could not believe my luck and started taking some videos and photos straight away.
This was genuinely one of the most awesome things I have experienced in nature and loved every second of seeing these whales swimming around.
Here are some of the images I captured. (They would be better if I went closer, but I was not going to endanger these creatures for any image, no matter how good).
I also compiled some clips into this short clip which I hope you enjoy.
