Hello Hive,
During the night between Monday January 5th and Tuesday January 6th, a crazy-cool event happened here in Nantes : a snow fall.
We had a previous snow appereance two days before Christmas, with tiny snowflakes dancing in the sky during a couple of hours. It was a bit too hot for the snow to stay on the ground but cool to watch. I was doing a lightpainting session during that night and this was a very welcomed event durign that lonely trip in the cold.
I was totally different the second time : the snowfall was long and intense, and we rapidly saw a white coat covering the whole city. It is very unusal to see snow here, as temperature is never under 0°C because of the proximity of the ocean.
At first, we thought that it was only a couple of flakes and we got back to the movie we were watching. But, it appeared to be consistant so we stopped watching TV and took a walk outside. The day after, the snowfall stopped during the early morning. As we were both in a day-off, we quickly put our winter gear and cameras to take a walk in the Machines de l'Ile area.
Here you can see the famous Anneaux de Buren in a totally different way as usual :
I was really great to see this town wearing a snow coat. Public transportations were down, so was the car trafic. A very pleasant, shiny and peaceful day 😎
