One of the cool places around and worth visiting if you already land in Lisbon - Cabo da Roca.
A huge cliff surrounded by hills. It is the westernmost part of continental Europe and it really feels like it when you stand there. It's awesome!
It can be very cold even in summer due to strong winds coming from the ocean. But standing on the top of the cliff and seeing nothing else but the ocean ahead is worth catching a cold.
The hills around are covered in the low growing plants. I didnt notice anything taller than a waistline. Nothing would have a chance to grow in those winds I guess.
It is pretty amazing to look all that space with no human sounds. Just wind and crashing waves.
Those Ice plants are one of the succulents that will grow there natively. With woody stems and very thick leaves nothing can move them. The worst that can happen to them is sunburn.
It would be a lot more enjoyable without the crowd of tourists ;)
The place is huge, spacious and really pretty, but for some reason everyone has to take a selfie in this spot... (except the guy above - he found a different spot).
Hoomans are weird :p
I wasn't the only Pole around :)
