I had to run to catch the last moments of this sunset. The blue sky during the day didn't promise anything cool to happen later on.
But then the cloud showed up!
And everything changed.
I would normally start shooting with wider lens (Nikkor 18-55) to catch more of the skies and land. But it only works well when the sun is higher - the fields are still lit up and the whole sky has more colour.
Since I was later I went straight for the zoom (Tamron 70-300) to get the last bits of the sun and golden-red colours in the clouds.
I like those big closeup shots when there is no blue sky visible. Just the burning heat of the sun.
Layers upon layers.
Like Shrek :)
This is the train track place I mention almost every with sunset photos. It is my go to place and I have a few favorite spots there. The whole place is surrounded by fields nad forests on one side of the tracks and each crossing with a dirt road has one of those signs. No other signals or fences.
After the sun was gone I went to have a look at the horses that were chilling on the lawn nearby. I see them almost every time I go shoot the sunset, but in different spots. Most of the time further away. This time they were right there next to the path. I didn't want to spook them o I didn't get any closer. Took some photos and went home before it got completely dark.
They didn't want to pose nicely, but the silhouettes against still golden skies look quite nice.
