During all the lockdowns and time at home, going out and taking photos just wasn't an option. If you've seen some of my previous posts you'll know I create some simple digital art as well. Combining the two skill sets in a cohesive way is something I've thought about doing but again needed to find the time to experiment and let my mind generate ideas.
So today I created this.
This location will be instantly recognisable to photographers that have shot there. Bombo Quarry in NSW. They'll also know that the aurora is not visible (at least not like this) at this spot.
I also haven't shot aurora...
I had this photo as my canvas and the rest was my imagination.
It's easy to tell ourselves that we can't do something. That we either don't know how or it doesn't fit with everything else we do. Lately I've just been thinking "Fuck it. I'm just going to do it anyway". I'd rather run into dead ends and failed attempts than mill around wondering what's possible. So I might try and get a little series of these images done and get to the point where people will begin to question if they are real. Because that would suit me just fine.
