Staring into fire can be almost mesmerizing. What surprised me when attempting these shots were that despite the fact that the flame served as a light source I still had to bump up the ISO to 640 to get the exposure I wanted.

Once I made the adjustments these two images ended up showing the detail of the wick in the way I had hoped while still maintaining the softness of the fire.
