Hello!
"What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger". You could see this in people living in desert. Iran has a diverse weather, from arid in the center to humid in north and south, from warm in nearly most of Iran (😅) to cold in high altitudes of west and north west. Most of the historical sites are place in central Iran, in cities like Yazd and Isfahan. Although there is a river in Isfahan, but generally both cities are arid. Kerman, another arid city, also has some great sand castles. There are far less historical sites in North of Iran which is humid and anything could grow by itself . All these lead me to the conclusion that nothing significant comes out of an easy life. The question is do you want an easy life, or build something significant.
Few years ago I went to Varzaneh desert with my friends to make a documentary about a disease caused by an insect that lives close to desert and causes skin lesion. The disease is called cutaneous leishmaniasis. We talk with few people, some locals, some just visiting the desert, about how much they know about the disease. The goal was to increase the public awareness of that disease because it's easy to prevent it, but hard to cure it.
These are few shots of that trip.
