Calvary greetings to you, my lovely people. I'm glad to be here again to share my view on the topic discussed my bro Eli on whether evil spirit can touch human. Yes, according to the book of 1John3:9, it's only those that are born of God i.e those that sin not that evil spirit cannot touch, which means, this means evil spirit can touch sinners.
The Bible says in 1 John 3:8 that he that sinneth is of the devil. So, evil spirit could touch and possess as many that sin, because they are his. Sin gives the devil dominion over people, so the devil torment them. It is also important to note that king Saul was chosen by God, but the moments he started sinning and became disobedient, an evil spirit from the Lord started tormenting him. Imagine, the evil spirit was even from the Lord, which means God approved it because he was a sinner.
Brethren, the whole thing centers on avoidance of sins. Sin is a legal ground for the devil to torment a believer. God detests sin, His eyes cannot behold iniquities. The Bible says in the book of 1Peter 5:8 that the devil is like a roaring lion, going to and fro, seeking for whom to devour. The devil is looking for loop holes, and sin creates that loop holes. Isaiah 59:1 talks about the fact that God's hand is not too short to protect us from evil spirit and all but our sins separate Him for us.
Dearly beloved, in as much as we want to keep enjoying the protection of God, we should avoid sins like plague. It's the only thing that removes God's cover from us. If we sin not God will keep us in His secret place far above principalities and powers. Where we will be safe and free, where no evil power can reach nor touch us.
