Hello
I want to contribute to the question tagged "Was Jesus Christ crucified on a stake or on a Cross? "
Is Jesus really nailed to a cross or to a stake.
The Greek word used in the book of Acts is Stauros which means from the base of G2476; a stake or a post.
So HE was nailed to stauros or a pole or a cross. And the Apostle said he was nailed to a cross which is the same.
How can you nail him, if it is not a tree.
If it is not a trunk of the tree or a post.
Can you nail him to a concrete Post?
There are no concrete nails then, so he can not be nailed to a cross or to a tree, the trunk of a tree which is a wooden tree.
So when the Bible says that HE was nailed to a
wooden cross.
The cross is made of a tree. The trunk of a tree.
If we go back to history. When the Roman Empire is punishing criminals those condemned to die on the cross or on the tree.
Not all cross have their horizontal form .
Sometimes the one called a cross is just a Post a tree where they hung Criminals.
Not only Jesus was hung on a cross, but the criminals with HIM was also hung on the cross.
But it doesn't necessarily mean because it is a cross. It will have a cross on it.
It can be a cross or a stake as the Greek Bible implies.
There is no contradiction in the Bible. The Bible is plainly written for us to understand.
It was a tree.
It was a cross.
It was a stake
It was a post
They are all synonyms .
I pray God will give us more revelation and understanding of his WORD.
Thanks for reading🤝
