Hi everyone,
I want to contribute to the question tagged "What is the Faith of the thief on the cross written in Luke 23:42-43?"
First of all,we need to understand what the book of Isaiah said before we can interpret this in relation to what happened on the cross between our Lord Jesus Christ and the thief.
Isaiah 64:6
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags: and we all do fade as a leaf ; and our iniquities like the wind have taken us away.
Those are words of people who are very deep in iniquities.
They are doing their own righteousness. There are two kinds of righteousness in the Bible.
Romans 10:3
For they being ignorant of God's righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
There are two kinds of righteousness in the Bible.
Righteousness of God or God's righteousness.
Man's Righteousness or own's righteousness of man.
And those who are ignorant of God's righteousness and want to establish their own righteousness have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God said by Apostle Paul.
Let us compare this to words of Apostle Paul.
Romans 3:10
As it is written, there is none righteous,no not one
Romans 3:11
There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
Romans 3:12
They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable there is none that doeth good, no not one.
These are among those people who have forgotten God in their life's. None of them seek God ,none understands.
If you are going God's righteousness, will it be like filthy rags.
If you are submitting yourself to God,will it be like filthy rags.
Let us examine ourselves and make a positive change.
Thanks for reading.
