Hi ,
I would like to add some few points of mine to the question that says What is the truth of the thief on the cross written in Luke 23:42-43?
Luke 23:39
And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
This is where he professed his Faith.
The very moment in time, he had already believed in the Lord Jesus Christ.
That is a profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
That was sufficient to save him because he had just an hour or minutes to live.
For us who are not crucified, it will not be sufficient to only have Faith and do not do good works anymore.
2Peter 1:5-9
Verse 5
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
If we are purged from our sins and we look far from that which is in front of us and which are blind.
We need to do something more than faith alone and also add Obedience.
1 Corinthians 13:13
And now abideth , faith, hope, Charity. These three; but the greatest of these is LOVE/ CHARITY.
Love is the greater than faith. Love must not be absent in faith.
1Corinthians 13:1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
Note: We have to apply our hearts unto wisdom and put our Faith unto works and to demonstrate as God has commanded us.
