I'm contributing to what I learnt again titled
"Was Jesus Christ crucified on a stake or on a cross? (Part 1 of 2)"
The word spile on the original greek scriptures is stauros which means stake.
There are verses of scriptures which say He was crucified on the cross. That isn't contrary to the anything.
For us to believe and tally with the scriptures. We must not find contradiction in the words of God.
If we find any contradiction, then is not the words of God. For the words of God has not any contradictory to itself.
"Proverbs 8:8-9 All the words of my mouth are righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them. Verse 9 They are plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge"
I like to hear that as you hear the words of God.
So, His words are righteous, there's no froward or contradiction in God's words.
The thought of God is higher than everyone of us. He may speak in parable or many languages or ways possible.
His words are plain and simple truth. They are the truth that God wants us to understand. So, He cannot hide it from us. They are spirit.
And there are many people who find it to difficult to understand the bible even the scriptures.
"Proverbs 1:23 says Turn you at my reproof: Behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you"
There is a condition for you to begin to open the passages of the bible. But read yourself first.
For you at my reproof says the LORD. Proverbs 1:23
So, God wants us to value His commandments. He says you at my reproof then follow me, obey me, I will pour my spirit unto you and I will make known my words unto you.
Why is it that the above question of the bible? The bible is misterious. It should be understood and obeyed by everybody.
There is notion in the mind of people because they are not following God's commandments. They are not keeping the words of God.
He says you at my reproof: I will pour out my spirit unto you. I will make known my words unto you.
Meaning, you will not find it difficult or hard to understand the words of God, if He is the one making it known unto you.
The only condition is that you have to value His commandments, rules and regulations.
You just have to know the clue. What is the clue? The clue is to value him. When He says thou shall not covet thy neighbor's wife, then obey Him. Thou shall not steal, then don't steal.
Obey first, even before reading the bible. You will then find it plain and simple and you will even memorise the scriptures.
God will put that in your mind.
I believe that. I have experienced such experience.
So, all the words of God are letters to us all and to those people who will love Him.
If we can obey Him, He will make His words known us.
Therefore, let's be determined to obey the words of God to the letter and He will help us in Jesus' Name.
