All of our possessions are gifts from God. If God didn't provide us with the means to accomplish anything, we couldn't. We are fortunate to be able to bless others. The purpose of God's financial blessings is not to raise our level of living but rather to raise our standard of giving.
Unfortunately, however, many people make mistakes. We should assist others in every way we can. People ought to gain from us. We shouldn't have to focus solely on ourselves. God's word commands us to love our neighbours as much as we love ourselves. When we have this kind of mentality we won't think twice before we help people.
Love involves giving. God loved us and He proved this at a great measure when He gave us His son Jesus Christ. That sacrifice alone was worth more than any treasure or amount of money one can think of this world.
