While other people are complaining that there is a casting down, for we believers our confession would be that there is a lifting up. We don't define things according to the nature of the circumstances we are facing. We define things according to God's perspective.
Having God in our lives gives us a cause for no alarm. The joy of the Lord is our strength. Obstacles and challenges may come but we don't worry ourselves over them because we know that God is far much bigger than them. God told us in His Word that He won't let challenges bigger than us to come our way.
So whatever challenge we are facing we are facing then because God has supplied us with the grace required to overcome that challenge. If life were to be all smooth then we may have no reason to trust in God. It is in such trying times that God's faithfulness is proved. It is also in these times that we are convinced of how much faith we really have in God.
