Much of what is preached today— a blending of humanism and Eastern ideologies—is not biblical Christianity. Many follow this diluted “gospel,” thinking they are living for Christ. We must return to the Bible. After receiving Christ, one needs to be purged of worldly ideas and filled with God's Word, live by God's values and see life as God sees it.
The Bible says in Mark 8: 36: What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Today, tragic things happen in our society that remind us of how fleeting life is. A society that believes money is everything.
There are heartbreaking stories of murders of innocent lives for money ritual purposes, reflecting how deeply twisted our value system has become. Yet, change in society must begin with God’s people. We must live purposefully, anchored in God's truth—not by the world’s standards.
Sadly, many of us are preaching messages that fuel greed and materialism. We are made to think that if we don’t live in certain neighbourhoods or drive certain cars, we are not successful. That is not Christianity.
Even though Jesus, the Son of God, had all things, He did not live flamboyantly. He lived simply, used His resources to bless others and advance God’s kingdom. Jesus taught us the meaning of life—not just to be saved from sin but to model how life should be lived.
No one is meant to be here forever. We will give account of everything we've done in this body. As Hebrews 9: 27 put it, “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”
